Mushahid is an Outdoor & Experiential Learning Specialist with over 7 years of international experience designing and delivering leadership, service-learning, and adventure based programs across Asia, Middle East, Australia, & Africa. He has worked closely with Global Leadership Adventures in multiple roles, including as a Mentor in Indonesia and later as an International Director overseeing student programs in Tanzania and Sumatra, supporting cross-cultural engagement, student mentoring, and program delivery aligned with GLA’s educational philosophy and safety standards; core values that he uses as pillars for his own local initiative Nil Manel Excursions.
Beyond GLA, Mushahid has held senior instructional and leadership roles with organisations such as Ecoventure (Sri Lanka & UAE) and the Outdoor Education Group (Australia). His experience spans cultural immersion, outdoor expeditions, team based leadership challenges, and community engagement. Known for balancing challenge with care, and with a background in risk management and wilderness safety, he creates environments where young people build confidence, resilience, and self trust. A former competitive oarsman and athlete, he brings discipline and empathy to experiential learning.

Through her founding organisation, Perspective South, she designs intellectually rigorous yet accessible immersion experiences that introduce students to diplomacy, global governance, and cross-cultural understanding. Her niche lies in guiding students to engage thoughtfully with global systems, helping them connect lived experience with academic inquiry, reflective practice, and a clearer sense of their own place & purpose within an interconnected world. She is believes in the deep importance of balance, and believes firmly in learning through journey, discussion, immersion and of course, fun.

With a diverse international clientele spanning Europe, US, & the Middle East, she brings deep local knowledge, operational expertise, and a strong commitment to responsible, culturally informed travel. With more than 20 years experience in banking, she also specialises in risk analysis and the strategic planning of sustainable, multi-stakeholder initiatives in Sri Lanka. A mum to two active daughters, she’s also spent a great part of her time curating activities and experiences suited to young adults.
